Soundflow

Concept & Experience

“Flow” is a concept developed by the psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi to describe a state of optimal experience: effortless concentration, full absorption, and peak performance. Soundflow adapts this idea to the particular experience of sound-making at the piano — the sense of imagining, producing, and hearing a sound all at once, so immersively that the boundary between intention and result seems to disappear.

In Performance

Certain performances embody the idea of soundflow directly — moments where listening, imagining, and playing collapse into a single continuous act.
